Indonesian Moslem leader and government critic Amien Rais addresses thousands of people in Tanjung Priok district in North Jakarta during a ceremony to commemorate the 1984 killings of Moslems September 12. Troops were stationed in several parts of the capital to anticipate riots but no incidents were reported. Violent clashes broke out in September 1984 in Tanjung Priok when about 1,500 Moslem youths, which the government said were inflamed by fiery preachers, marched through the streets and attacked security forces to demand the release of four colleagues.
