Japan Tobacco Inc (JT), the world's third-biggest cigarette producer, said on Tuesday it plans to cut 2,500 jobs domestically within five years and 2,000 jobs overseas by 2002 in a drive to cut costs. JT, which last year purchased the overseas tobacco business of U.S. tobacco and food company RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp, said it has integrated its and the former RJR division into a new company, JT International S.A., based in Geneva, to control its overall foreign operations.
