A Chinese newspaper with the headline " Our new gunboat has posed a threat to U.S. destroyers" is on sale at a Beijing newsstand March 19. China scrutinised Taiwan warily on Sunday after the island elected as president the man Beijing least wanted to see in the job and let the barrage of invective it launched against Chen Shui-bian die.
