FBI investigators chopped down and removed a tree stump from the backyard of a Tacoma, Washington home on October 23 as evidence linked to the Washington, D.C. serial sniper investigation. Investigators say that the tree stump may have been riddled with bullets and other items such as bullet casings may have been found at the home where suspect John Allen Muhammad had previously lived when he was a U.S. Army soldier stationed at nearby Fort Lewis in the 1980's.
