A damaged First World War memorial surrounded by fresh graves. Mozzagrogna was captured from the Germans in November 1943 after a bitter fight. The grave marker in the foreground is that of Fusilier Edward James Warman (6467777), 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), killed in action, 2 December 1943. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission have his final resting place as the Sangro River War Cemetery.
