this trough has fine carvings on its sides but the cartouches at the top are blank.the long sides are divided into three panels with the outer ones containing stylized carnation and palm trees. the central panel within an ogee arch has two typical Ottoman cypress trees with flowering stems weaving naturilastically behind them. the panel at the end has stylized versions of another popular Ottoman flower the tulip. a hole perhaps for a tap was inserted at the bottom of one side-trough-stone-inv.n.3993-purchased Muhammad Amin-Ottoman 18th century-IMG_4366
