Festtafel. Die spanische Etikette, die um 1550 mit der Mode ihren Einzug in Deutschland hielt, verfeinerte auch die Tischsitten. Die Gabel war noch ein seltener Gegenstand und wurde nur zum Tranchieren benutzt. Lang herabhangende Tischtucher, fruher nur an Festtagen aufgelegt, bedeckten die Tafel. Die Serviette kam mit dem Taschentuch zugleich auf und wurde nicht immer von ihm unterschieden. Translation: Banquet.
