Switzerland Children's Village Pestalozzi (b/w photo)

The dining room of one of the four houses of the “Pestalozzi Children's Village” in Trogen in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, which was inaugurated in September 1947 with a ceremony. In August 1944, Walter Robert Corti published an appeal to the public in the magazine “DU”, calling for the building of a war orphan's village. The appeal led to the establishment of the village two years later. At the childrens' village, needy children and adolescents from various countries and backgrounds are cared for and supported with their integration.
