Switzerland Fete Des Vignerons, 1977 (b/w photo)

The Fete des Vignerons takes place in Vevey from 30 July to 14 August 1977. Six oxen will then pull the cart of the goddess Ceres. They are currently being prepared for their work on the premises of the penal colony of Bochuz, Canton Vaud. In a training course, which is to teach them the Gleischstep, 80 steps per minute are required from the draught animals. For the four-year-old oxen, however, the Winzerfest will be a unique highlight in their lives, as they will be on sale at the slaughter cattle market in Chatillens, Canton Vaud, as early as 16 August.
