Image description

A mouse invasion threatens the village of Schupfart in Fricktal, Canton Aargau. Already last year, the total amount of premiums for trapped mice rose to about 8,000 francs, which corresponds to about 20,000 mice. The rodents cause considerable damage to agricultural crops by eroding the roots. The numerous dying trees prove this. In view of this threat, the community assembly has decided on a loan of 6000 francs to fight the mice with poison, as the traps alone are no longer sufficient. From different circles, however, protest actions have been started, because it is feared that other animals could also be harmed. Two canoes, which act as mouse catchers, present a trapped mouse. Taken on August 11, 1966
