Ypres Cathedral in ruins, 1918. Photograph, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1918. St Martin’s Cathedral in Ypres was built in the Romanesque style in the 13th century. It was badly damaged by shelling during the war and gradually restored in the inter-war era. One of 193 British and Allied official photographs.
