Bridgeman Images are excited to introduce Christophe Von Hohenberg – an acclaimed photographer specialising in portraits, fashion, lifestyle and documentary projects. His latest exhibition at Fotografiska Stockholm features a curated selection of his most iconic works. A private viewing with cocktails and artist discussions accompanies the opening of the show.
To mark the occasion, we’ve selected some highlights from the archive.
In 1979 American Vogue discovered Christophe and the Museum of Modern Art displayed his photos. In the 1980s Christophe expanded his career, working with such publications as Interview, Art Forum, Vanity Fair, Geo, German Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Fortune, Hamptons Magazine, German and french Vogue.
His work has been displayed at the Grey Art Gallery in New York City; The Dorian Grey Gallery in New York City; the Stephen Keszler Gallery in New York City; the Rudolf Budja Gallery in Salzburg, Austria; the America House Cultural Center in Munich, Germany; Affirmation Arts in New York City; the Goss Gallery in Dallas, Texas; and Aretha Campbell Fine Art, London; and Patrica Conde Gallery in Mexico City.
His shows have been reviewed in German Vanity Fair, English Vogue and The Daily Telegraph. In 2007, his critically acclaimed book Andy Warhol: The Day the Factory Died received the Photo District News Photo Book Award and the AIGA Book Award.
In December 2012, Coldharbour London Gallery exhibited The Day The Factory Died, a collection of never-before published photos by Von Hohenberg of Pop artist Andy Warhol’s memorial service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1987. Curated by Aretha Campbell – now our artist manager here at Bridgeman – the exhibition brought together letters from the memorial, original photographs and works by Warhol himself.
Christophe Von Hohenberg has a show opening at Fotografiska Stockholm on Wednesday 16th of May. RSVP at email@example.com or visit their website for further information. The exhibition features photography of Yoko Ono, Calvin Klein, Leo Castelli, Debbie Harry, Liza Minelli and others.
