Alphabet City
Luke Martineau is one of Bridgeman Studio's great artists for the kind of versatile typographic paintings which work exceptionally well for licensing across a wide range of editorial usages as well as products and advertising.
This month, Luke kindly gave us a glimpse into his studio in London to visually illustrate how he works each day.

After reading English and Modern Languages at Oxford, Luke trained at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and has been practicing as an artist since the early 1990s.
Luke remains inspired by the woodcuts of William Nicholson, which documented the daily-life of young children as well portraying the professions of respectable (and not so respectable) men in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

As well as Luke's alphabet paintings, his landscape paintings have garnered much success, held in numerous public and private collections including the Royal Collection. A career highlight in 2010 included travelling to India with Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as official tour artist.
