Blenheim Palace was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough following his famous victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704.  Now home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, the Palace is also significant as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.

Conceived in 1705 by Sir John Vanbrugh and finished in 1722 Blenheim is a masterpiece of English Baroque architecture. Inside the scale of the Palace is beautifully balanced by the intricate detail and delicacy of the carvings, the hand painted ceilings and porcelain collections, tapestries and paintings displayed in each room.  Situated in Woodstock, just 8 miles from Oxford, Blenheim Palace is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland, the great lake, and beautiful formal gardens.

Following a partnership with The Bridgeman Art Library, many of the most prized possessions within this collection are available to view and download for licensing projects.

Images includes views of the house, garden and park throughout the ages as well as portraits of the family, depicted by the greatest artists of the day.
