Business Development Manager, Commercial Markets, UK/ROW

 

Bridgeman Images, the leading global source of video, photographs, and illustration from the past and present worlds of art, culture, and history, is looking for an experienced business development manager to support our direct sales efforts in the UK and Rest-of-World (ROW) markets which includes all those that are outside of the Americas, UK, France, Italy, and Germany.

The main responsibilities of this role are (1) opening doors and winning new business by proactively pitching Bridgeman’s offering to clients within commercial segments, including advertising agencies, design firms, corporations, display/exhibition companies, products and print-on-demand; and (2) growing revenue and market share within an existing portfolio of accounts. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Experience or deep knowledge of stock photography, creative media, or a digital media-based business. Specialism in the heritage or museum sectors would be highly advantageous
  • Uncover and win new business within the assigned markets by:
  • Partnering with Marketing on lead generation efforts
  • Researching and targeting new lead opportunities
  • Conducting discovery calls to determine opportunity
  • Introducing and aligning Bridgeman’s content and services to the needs of the customer
  • Manage lifecycle from lead to customer
  • Grow revenue and market share within an existing portfolio of accounts by:
  • Increasing the number of active contacts and building a pipeline of new projects through consistent outreach and discovery
  • Negotiating preferred pricing deals to win commitment-based contracts
  • Partner with inside sales team to:
  • Maximizing revenue on every project by cross-selling and up-selling Bridgeman’s content and services
  • Providing excellent customer service from start to finish.
  • Produce quarterly action plans to ensure the achievement of revenue and non-financial KPI goals.
  • Pipeline management and forecasting through sales analysis
  • Collaborate across sales teams to share best practices and market insights
  • Share customer insights and feedback with our Research, Content Partnership and Content Operations team to ensure Bridgeman’s content and service meet the market needs.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years + of relevant sales and business development experience selling into commercial clients. 
  • Experience or deep knowledge of stock photography, creative media, or a digital media-based business. Specialism in the heritage or museum sectors would be highly advantageous
  • Strong customer-centric mind-set, motivated by sales targets and driving new business
  • Proactive and creative approach to exploring existing and potential revenue opportunities
  • Demonstrable new business negotiation experience and able to close deals pragmatically
  • Comfortable managing revenue and forecasting sales and delivering agreed KPI’s to deadline
  • Highly competent in a digital-based sales or e-Commerce service-led B2B sales environment
  • A relationship-builder both internally and externally: comfortable managing executive level relationships as well as day to day communications with sales, finance or operational teams
  • Demonstrable ability to write competently; management reports capturing key performance indicators, future revenue ‘pipeline’ and objectives and preparing new business proposals
  • Able to present credibly and convincingly, network and influence at all organisational levels
  • Methodical and detail-conscious with the determination to complete projects to the end
  • Passionate about Bridgeman Images’ offering: imagery, heritage and service approach
  • Knowledge of copyright laws
  • English fluency required, multi-lingual preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, G-Suite and CRM software (HubSpot preferred)
