b.1957 Frances Bildner was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied comparative Literature at the University of New York before completing Fine Art courses at a number of colleges, including the Parsons School of Design and the Sculpture Centre in London. This eclectic range of influences contribute to her dynamic style. She injects urban excitement into still life and all her work is imbued with the heat and passion of her native country. Her paintings frequently document modern life, from narrative pictures depicting social situations to more abstract pieces which seek to convey a mental state. Bildner employs traditional genre and media to create youthful images suitable for the modern market and with their technicolour palettes and active aspect, the technical age.
