Australian and allied POW at Yokohama preparing for repatriation and shots of Australian prisoners of war (POW) on the American hospital ship 'Benevolence'. Although the footage is low contrast, there are good close ups of mens' faces smiling to camera (some showing deteriorated teeth) and wearing striped pyjamas. The following scene shows American and European troops waiting for their ship and looking happy. American, British and Australian flags are prominent in subsequent shots. The last scene is of a Red Cross station dispensing donuts and large cups of coffee to the soldiers waiting to go home.
