Portrait of Natalia Goncharova, 1912 (b/w litho)

Mikhail Larionov (1881-1964) Lithographic postcard published by the poet Aleksei Kruchenykh in order to promote new tendencies in Russian Art. The postcards were printed in around August 1912, following a successful exhibition that March by the radical new Donkey's Tail artistic group. Six of the March exhibitors contributed designs: Goncharova (11 images), Mikhail Larionov (14 images), his brother, Ivan Larionov (3 images), Vladimir Tatlin (3 images), Aleksandr Shevchenko (3 images) and Nikolai Rogovin (1 image). In all 35 postcards are known, although it is believed there were originally 36 produced. The print run was likely around 200-300 copies of each image.
