Image description

The coventrization of British vital centers. One after the other, England's main industrial and shipping centres are being devastated by Axis aviation. The series began in the city of Coventry, where 500 tons of explosives were dumped. Birmingham, Bristol, Plymouth, Southampton and Liverpool were then coventrized. Here is a vision of the mass assault on this last city, which is the second port in England, after London, colossal fires and explosions reduce the piers and all the war facilities to rubble. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 8 December 1940.
