Paris: Maurice Darantiere for NRF Original model containing the full text (mostly printed on plain paper, some leaflets on wove paper), signed several times by the printer Maurice Darantiere with "Premier". With ten comic vignettes in the text, drawings on tracing for hedging trials, few thumbnails with de Chirico lithographs drawn on paper by China and other additional parts. Paperback (broken back). Very nice piece of work, witness the genesis of this major edition illustrated by Giorgio De Chirico. This is clearly here the model carefully from the printer Maurice Darantiere. This unique piece, with the final state of the original cover decorated with a lithograph by Giorgio De Chirico, contains essays coverage (3 prototypes layer with annotations of final prints to China, Japan and on vellum) models for the proof and the preface but the prospectus and the full text (corrected) signed three times by Darantiere. It is addressed to André Malraux, then artistic director at Gallimard; there are also a response from the latter to the printer as well as letters of Rouveyre on publication. Rouveyre later provide the introduction to this work. In these pieces add seven plates on photographic paper and seven lithographs thumbnails mounted on rice paper. VERY NICE DOCUMENT.
