Description
presented by the East India Company to George III (1738-1820) in 1800 given to Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), bequeathed to four of her daughters in 1818, then given to George IV (1762-1830) in 1818; Originally belonged to Tipu Sultan (1750-99), de facto ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore, Indian ruler and resister of the East India Company was killed by the British on May 4th, 1799 ; made from gold, rubies, emeralds, diamonds, pearls and silver gilt; Asian; gems; gemstones;
