Oil painting on canvas, Henry Le Mesurier (1746-1792) by John Opie RA (St Agnes 1761 London 1807), circa 1790. A half-length portrait of Henry Le Mesurier, seated with elbows on arm rests, wearing a black jacket, waistcoat and necktie with white shirt. He was a member of an old Guernsey family who were ancestors of Flora Paint, Mrs Theodore Mander. His grandfather was Governor of Alderney.
