The Berlin Blockade was one of the first international crises of the Cold War lasting from June 24, 1948 until May 12,1949. 00:06:38;10 1949 the North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO is formed. General Dwight D. Eisenhower returns to Europe as Supreme Commander of NATO Forces and began re-building the West military strength.
