Japanese loin cloth worn by Fred Mody, 5th Battalion, The Suffolk Regiment. Mody was taken prisoner in Singapore on 15 February 1942. This was the only item of clothing issued to Mody by the Japanese whilst he was made to work on the Burma-Siam railway, between 1942 and 1945.
