Image description

Can opener from United States Army 'C' ration, 1950 (c). This can opener was used by Corporal D F Barrett of 1st Battalion The Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) during the Korean War (1950-1953). Many soldiers kept these can openers and hung them with a string from their neck, so that they would always have one on hand if needed.
