Image description: On Good Friday, the Marbles Championship of the World, was played at Tinsley Green, Sussex, in the grounds of the Old Greyhound Inn. It had been played there for the last 300 years. The local team are practising hard for the event and among their competitors will be a team of pilots from British Airways, a team of Crawley businessmen and a team from the Southern Railway. Uncle Sam Spooner, aged 75, who won the championship 50 years ago, in action. Left is Tom the Sticker, right Smuggler Knight, above Soused Charlie.
