Worked in leading portrait studio in central Manchester. 1945 Married Louis Bohm. 1946 Opened "Studio Alexander" in Manchester. 1947 Frequent visits (until 1952) to Ascona in the Ticino, Switzerland. 1948 First visit to Israel. 1953 Lived in Paris, travelled extensively in Europe (and would continue to do so). 1955 Lived in New York and San Francisco; travelled extensively in USA and Mexico. ...

1971 Closely involved with the founding of The Photographers’ Gallery, London, and its Associate Director for next 15 years.
1974 Visited South Africa.
1980 BBC2 Television documentary Dorothy Bohm-Photographer. Experimented with colour photography, using SX70 Polaroid camera.
1985 Started to work exclusively with colour film. Visited Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.
1986 & 1987 Visited Egypt.
1991 Several visits to Venice.
1995 Interviewed by Mark Haworth-Booth for the Oral History of British Photography, National Sound Archive, British Library, London.
1998 Founded Focus Gallery for Photography, Bloomsbury, London.
2009 Appointed Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.
2014 Work included in The History of European Photography, 1939-69 (FOTOFO, Bratislava).
2015 Included in Britain's Greatest Generation, BBC2 TV series.
